Karen Croner was a paper mache artist that was born and raised in Arizona. Her sculptures are inspired by what she did as a child, what she did at school and her love of different types of animals. Each of her creatures she makes is only going to be made once because she can only take pictures of people and animals up real close whnever they have time to. She makes her sculptures by using her hands to paint, paper mache it and make it. Everyone of her pieces takes between less than a day(20 hrs) and two and a half days(60 hrs). She uses different kinds of papers to paper mache them after she puts the wire on them. She adds details with paper pulp that is messed up or clay. It took me a while to realize these were paper mache. The paint job creates the allusion that the creature is in motion.

That is really realistic, for a second I thought her art was taxidermy! But I was even more surprised when I found out that it was made out of paper mache.
